Airport , was referred to the Emunah Children's Center in Afula, where he lived for 4 years. Only a few short weeks after arriving at the Center Sharon was inform that his family had perished in the & he was now alone in the world. Sharon lived with this notion for 2 long sad years, until the mistake was discovered – his parents and siblings were alive and had made it safely to .
Sharon Shalom went on successfully complete high school, became one of the first Ethiopian born officers in the IDF, became a certified Rabbi and is currently a lecturer and PHD student at 's
Bar
Ilan
University .
In February
Rabbi Sharon Shalom was invited by the Greenwich CT Federation to speak about his life experiences, his successes and the role of the
Emunah
Center in helping him to achieve all that he has done. Rabbi Shalom numerous events in Greenwich, as well as in Westport, Springfield MA and at HAFTR schools in
Woodmere NY .
