For the first time in their lives our children are safe
David from Nahariya was only 7 years old when his mother abandoned him. Hanna from Afula was 11 when her father killed her mother. Rachel and Michael, brother and sister from Haifa, had not enjoyed a hot meal for many months. Yuval, only 5 years old, was home alone night after night whilst his mother hunted for drugs. All have come to reside at the Emunah Sarah Children’s Centre in Afula, referred by Child Protective Services. They are the lucky ones and are now safe.
Together with over 160 children at risk, aged 3 months to 18 years, David, Hanna, Rachel, Michael and Yuval now call the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Centre their home. For the first time in their lives the children are able to go to sleep at night without fear, to dream without nightmares. For the first time in their lives they are woken in the morning by caring and warm adults, whose only wish is to care for their every need. Our experienced staff is there for the children at all times, ready and willing to provide the love, support and stability the children so urgently require and to ensure that they feel safe and secure.

For the first time in their lives we love our children enough to:
• cry with them when they are sad
• laugh and smile with them when they are glad
• say no and actually mean it
• say “I promise” and actually fulfill it
• look for them when they run away

• sit next to them at night and tell them “tomorrow will be a new day”
• be the family for which they yearn
• say “I love you” without wanting anything in return

Referred to us by Social Services our children have enormous needs – professional assessment, therapies, tutoring, extra curricular activities, clothing, school supplies, pocket money and many more. Government funding covers only half of the actual expenses. Your caring and generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of the children at Emunah Children’s Centre. Show your love for our children and help us to make their lives better.
For the first time in their lives somebody believes in them…
Children who are raised within a loving, functional environment receive the tools needed to build their own identity, to develop their talents and to believe in themselves. At the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Centre each individual child is enveloped in a world of positive reinforcement and praise. The children are taught to experience and enjoy success and the aim of our every action and our every word is to let them know that “we believe in you”. Whether through academic support, art, sports, music or social activities; whether through emotional therapy, Capoeira, drama or horseback riding – we strive to help the children and their parents to develop the confidence and tools needed to break the cycle of distress.
